Depression

Feel Better… Today

“I always thought anxiety was just part of my personality. Only when my primary physician referred me to treatment did I realize it was an illness.”

Mental illness affects almost everyone, either directly or through a loved one. At Midtown Health and Wellness, we provide mental health treatment for depression and anxiety, engaging with patients with dignity and respect. Many mental health conditions can be treated in a primary care setting with commonly prescribed medication and recovery can begin very quickly.

Over 18% of Americans suffer from anxiety each year. Major depression affects over 20% of American adults, and accessible mental health care is difficult to find. At Midtown Health and Wellness, we make receiving care for mental health affordable. We are in-network and accessible, and we have same-day and next-day appointments available to help patients quickly access treatment.

With therapy available for extended hours (before and after work), and our assistance in understanding and using your insurance benefits, we eliminate the most common obstacles to care.

Treating Depression with Spravato®

SPRAVATO® is the only nasal spray treatment indicated for people who’ve taken two or more oral antidepressants and still experience symptoms of depression, or TRD.

SPRAVATO® is an N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor antagonist that is believed to work differently by acting on a pathway in the brain where glutamate, a brain chemical, works with other brain chemicals to balance well-being and depression.

Beginning The Process With Midtown Health and Wellness

Starting a therapy program at Midtown Health and Wellness proceeds in 3 steps:

Step 1

Phone Assessment

We will provide a general assessment of your circumstances the very first time you contact Midtown. During this screen, we discuss your mental health care needs and how we can help you.

In addition, we will help you to understand your insurance coverage for our programs.

Step 2

In-office Assessment and Medical Clearance

On your first visit to the office, a medical team including physicians and therapists will assess your physical and mental health. Based on this assessment, we create a personalized care plan for you.

Your mental health care program may begin on your first visit. Alternatively, when necessary, we will schedule your program for a suitable time.

Step 3

Mental Health Care Begins

When necessary, you will be prescribed medication to treat your depression or anxiety.

We will organize therapy at convenient hours that do not interfere with your work schedule.

Your therapy process will consist of specific goals so that you can assess your progress.
